The HKBU-SUSTech Joint Summer Workshop on Information Systems 2026 will be held at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) on July 13–14, 2026, under the theme “Future Forward: AI-Driven Business Research.”

 

The by-invitation workshop will feature a distinguished panel of globally renowned IS scholars serving as senior discussants. It provides a dynamic platform for PhD students and junior faculty from HKBU, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), and Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) to present their work-in-progress at the AI-business interface. Participants will engage in constructive dialogue with the senior discussants to strengthen submissions to top-tier IS journals. Beyond the focused feedback sessions, the workshop fosters a vibrant community through curated networking and social events, sparking collaborations that will shape the next wave of AI-driven business research.

Academics and research postgraduate students from the following universities are cordially invited to join:

  • School of Business, Hong Kong Baptist University

  • College of Business, Southern University of Science & Technology

  • Faculty of Business and Management, Beijing Normal – Hong Kong Baptist University

 Both presenters and non-presenting participants are welcome.

 Abstract Submission Instructions (TBC)

  1. The submitted version of each abstract must be written in English and submitted as a Word/PDF file through the online submission system at the conference homepage (TBC).

  2. The abstract must be in fully-justified italicized text, using Times New Roman 12-point font. Leave one blank line after the abstract. Please select 3 to 5 keywords, separated by commas.

  3. The abstract should not exceed one page in length.

Paper Presentation

  • All accepted presenters are required to submit a full paper by 20 June 2026.

Presentation Format:

  • Mode: Oral presentation (English)

  • Session Structure: Each parallel session will last 60 minutes, including presentations, mentor sharing, and interactive discussion
