Call For Papers

We invite original research that advances the understanding, design, and evaluation of next-generation e-business systems and practices in which autonomous or semi-autonomous AI technologies are embedded within digital commerce ecosystems. In particular, we seek contributions that examine: (i) the organizational, strategic, and market implications of agentic AI; (ii) innovative digital platform designs, coordination structures, and governance mechanisms that align stakeholder incentives, enhance trust, and mitigate emerging risks; and/or (iii) rigorous theoretical, empirical, or design-oriented evidence on the impacts of AI-enabled e-business systems on consumers, workers, firms, markets, and regulators. Consistent with the longstanding tradition of the WeB conference, we especially encourage submissions that explore emerging and frontier phenomena shaping the future of e-business and the digital economy.

Research may include, but are not limited to, the AI-driven transformation of e-business ecosystems and digital markets. Relevant topics include the design, governance, and impact of AI-enabled e-business systems and agentic ecosystems; agentic commerce; and the use of AI agents in search, recommendation, negotiation, and purchasing processes. The workshop also welcomes research on the unintended consequences of Agentic AI, including manipulation, collusion, misinformation, and broader platform integrity challenges in the agentic era. At the individual level, submissions may examine AI-enabled consumer experiences, human–AI collaboration, and AI-assisted decision-making in business operations and digital platforms. Topics of interest include marketplace design and mechanisms supporting AI-to-AI and human-to-AI interactions, as well as ethical and trustworthy AI issues such as explainability, fairness, safety, accountability, transparency, and regulatory compliance. From the consumer perspective, relevant research may address data privacy, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, trust, and digital identity in AI-enabled environments. At the organizational level, research may explore the business value of Agentic AI, including its integration into supply chains, operational processes, resilience strategies, and enterprise risk management. Additional topics of interest include AI-enabled FinTech and financial services, consumer behavior in AI-mediated environments, the economic and competitive dynamics of personalization and dynamic pricing, and real-world deployments of AI-driven decision support and automation systems. 

We welcome a broad range of research methodologies, including studies using public or proprietary data, field and laboratory experiments, causal inference approaches, design science, and survey-based measurement of AI interventions and outcomes. We encourage submissions that provide theoretical contributions, rigorous empirical evidence, methodological innovation, and actionable practical implications for understanding how e-business systems, digital platforms, and organizational practices evolve in an era of intelligent systems.
