The I. H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba is pleased to welcome participants to the Eleventh Empirical and Theoretical Symposium for Canadian Marketing Strategy (ETSYM), which will take place on May 22–23, 2026, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Faculty members and Ph.D. students at Canadian universities are invited to present their best work. As in past years, the symposium will focus on high-quality, original quantitative scholarly research addressing consumer- and firm-level marketing strategy questions. We also welcome quantitative research with the potential to generate meaningful real-world impact in non-profit organizational, public policy, and governmental settings.
The symposium will feature two competitive tracks: paper presentations and posters. Each accepted paper presentation will include a designated discussant. Ph.D. students are especially encouraged to present their work in the poster session. Submissions should list all authors and institutional affiliations, clearly identifying the presenting author. Please indicate one of the following at the time of submission:
Extended abstract (up to 1,500 words) for the presentation track, or
Short abstract (up to 500 words) for the poster session
Authors submitting extended abstracts for the presentation track are asked to indicate whether they would be willing to present a poster should scheduling constraints preclude a full presentation. Ph.D. students planning to attend are strongly encouraged to submit at least a poster as this provides valuable feedback opportunities and helps raise their profile within the field. The poster dimensions are 24” wide by 36” long in portrait orientation (Please leave a 1.25” margin on all sides).
The submission deadline is February 17, 2026, with acceptance notifications issued by March 6, 2026. Authors selected for paper presentations will be required to submit a full paper by May 10, 2026.
